What is the capital gains tax allowance in the UK?

Modified on Fri, 24 Jan at 5:15 PM

For the 2024/25 tax year, the annual tax-free CGT allowance is  £3,000. If your total realised gains from selling assets, including gold, are below this threshold, you will not need to pay CGT. Please remember tax rules, such as CGT allowance, can change.
